3/11/15- What do we want to learn about? Students completed a writing prompt on their own in class. Images of sharks were available on the Mead board.
3/19/15- Teacher creates a classroom space where students can share resources and post questions. Resources provided from classroom and school library.
3/31/15- Our board has really grown! Students have added body parts to "Evan Clark the Shark" including a brain, egg sack, and even a line to show us that sharks do not have swim bladders so they must keep moving at all times. We have answered many of our questions. Students continue to add to our list of types of sharks. New questions and facts have also been posted. All the Bear Cubs enjoy adding to our board.
4/8/15- Students continue to answer our research questions and ask to add other shark-related objects, pictures, and facts to the board.
3/23/15- First day back from Spring Break, students enjoy the new Research Center during Work on Writing. Students were challenged to pick a resource from the Research Center with their small group, learn something new and write it down.
3/23/15- More questions are added to our Research Center.
3/24/15- We have now filled our dry and erase board in the Research Center with our list of types of sharks we would like to study. Students asked (!) to add to our list by writing out even more types of sharks on paper which we then posted.
Students continue to add to our list of types of sharks in our Research Center. Students have been encouraged to write their own facts or questions to add to our board.
4/15/15- Students review the questions on our bulletin board in the Research Center. Students select specific questions they want to research and answer from our list. Our board grows.
